A Concierge Care Service for Black, ​Brown & International College Students

My Campus Aunties was founded in 2024 by Dr. Nicole G. Rayfield in response to the increase in ​enrollment by students of color in institutions of higher education following the end of the pandemic. ​As a first-generation college student in a predominantly White university and academic administrator ​with over 25 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Rayfield understands how challenging these ​environments can be for Black, Brown and International students.

Her research into the lived experience of black administrators at predominantly

white institutions (PWIs) revealed several insights into the role that these women

play in the lives of their students. Chief among them was the notion that Black

women act as “othermothers ”to Black and Brown students and support

advocacy and belonging within a space that can be scary, hostile, and confusing.

As the idea of black women having always played the role of Aunties, Play Mom’s

and surrogate moms, it was only natural that she embarked upon a mission to

help black and brown students thrive in these spaces.

$349.99 (6 months/2 academic semesters)

Our most popular plan includes a monthly in-​person visit, ongoing guidance and advice from ​your Campus Auntie and two “Aunties Treats ​Baskets” customized for the occasion and your ​student’s taste. Unlimited access to MCA ​resources and staff are also included!

Your Campus Auntie will help your student ​navigate through all of the milestones of a new ​school year- from reminders about registration to ​encouragement about joining clubs and ​organizations - we’ve got you covered!

For those students and families that prefer a ​virtual option, the Aunt Viv ® program is the ​way to go! This program pairs your scholar with a ​real life auntie who will schedule virtual calls to ​check in and provide guidance and mentorship ​as needed. Think of it as a second set of eyes ​on, your most precious prize. As with all MCA ​packages, unlimited access to MCA resources ​and staff are included!

• Do My Campus Aunties undergo background checks?
  

Absolutely! Each Auntie is thoroughly vetted through our independent background firm. We ensure that all of our

Aunties have current clear criminal, child abuse and FBI clearances. MCAs also act as mandated reporters and will

report any instance of criminal activity observed or made privy to the appropriate school or local authorities.

• What types of support will My Auntie give?

Aunties receive ongoing

• What type of experience do the Aunties have?

Our Aunties represent a wide range of backgrounds, careers and experience. At a minimum, they must have some

college education, long- term work history, and meaningful experience working with college students.

• Are Aunties able to access personal student info?

No, our Aunties do not have access to personal health, academic or financial information and will not act on behalf of

your student in any of these matters. It is to the discretion of the student and/or guardian (if under 18) to share that

information if desired and/or to file a FERPA permitting the Auntie to access to confidential student files.

• How do parents/family work with the Aunties?

• Are we able to change our Auntie?

In the rare instance that an Auntie and student are not well matched, MCA will make another Auntie available to your

student or offer other options to satisfy the needs of your student.

• Are Aunties trained to work with students with special needs, mental or physical health challenges or other cognitive issues?
